Vancouver, B.C. An investigation is underway, following a collision which involved three vehicles at the rear of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden’s motorcade. The vehicle Vice President Biden was in was not involved and did not remain at the site of the collision. He arrived safely at his destination
At approximately 11:35 am, the rear vehicle of the group rear-ended a second vehicle. The second vehicle was then pushed into a third vehicle. Two individuals within the second (middle) vehicle sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for assessment. And one individual has since been released.
The cause of the collision is under investigation, and a possible contributing factor includes road conditions and a reported oil spill on the roadway.
UPDATE:
As of 18:00 ISU can confirm the second individual injured in a collision today has been released from hospital and both injured persons are continuing with their visit to the Games.
